Mini Security Cameras

Mini security cameras, as the name implies, are very small and thus often regarded as hidden cameras. These are the smallest and cheapest of all security cameras available. Mini security cameras will have a size of only some millimeters. They are widely used in banks, stores and other public areas which need increased security. Now, more and more people choose mini security cameras for their home and business safety. Some parents install them in every room for close surveillance of their children.

Mini security cameras come with many options such as with or without special managing software, choice of wired or wireless options, black and white or color resolution, and infrared and night vision characteristics. They are available in many types such as bullet and dome cameras. Day/night mini security cameras use infrared-LED to show scenes in darkness. Some new devices with waterproof metallic cases are specially designed for continuous outside use.

Mini security cameras are so small that you can hide these cameras in or behind any object around you. These are often mounted in a firm attachment somewhere inside or outside of the building. Most mini security cameras have fixed lens - 3.6 mm or 5 mm pinhole lens built inside. These lenses give an output of 65-85 degree angle view. The resolution power varies from 150 lines to 420 lines and they often have 0.5 to 0.1 lux in low light environments.

Mini security cameras provide real-time monitoring, aid in identifying security breaches, reduce loss from theft, help in evaluating employee performance, and record processes for research and development. They transfer images, either through wired or wireless connections, to storing and monitoring devices such as a computer, VCR or to Internet sites. Many cameras are stand-alone systems, which store images in built-in discs instead of transmitting them.

There are many online vendors who provide mini security cameras through their online sites. You can select from a wide variety of brands and models. Prices of mini security cameras start at about $40 and can go up to $600 or above. A B/W camera with infrared lighting and integrated microphone is available for about $65 and a color camera with same configuration is available for about $90. Before selecting a model, determine your surveillance needs, purpose and budget.

Rick Sammon's Canon EOS Digital Rebel Personal Training Photo Workshop

Rick Sammon's Canon EOS Digital Rebel Personal Training Photo Workshop
Go to any Rick Sammon workshop or seminar and it will be standing room only. The popular speaker and Canon Explorer of Light travels the country on behalf of Canon teaching amateur photographers how to shoot better pictures. He has hosted shows on the DIY network as well as on ESPN and the Outdoor Life Network.

In this 1 1/2 hour video, Rick will show viewers all of the basic steps to taking great images. From camera basics to exposure, lenses, sport shooting, photographing in low light, close up photography, people and portraits, animals and pets, Rick breaks down complex topics into fun and interesting lessons. While other videos in this market feature an actor standing next to a camera on a tripod, Rick goes out on location to Universal Studios (Orlando, FL), Jungle World at the Bronx Zoo and other great places to entertain, educate and inspire viewers to becoming better photographers.

Customer Review: Big Disapointment

I bought this DVD hoping I would get some useful tips on taking better pictures. I just purchased my digital Cannon XT and just playing with it for 10 minutes, I figured out everything that was covered in this DVD. I was hoping for more but got much less. If you've never used any type of camera (digital or otherwise), I would recommend this DVD but if you're looking to polish your current skills, even if your skills are minimal, try another route.

In a nutshell, this DVD was a big disapointment for me I learned everything I needed to use the camera in about 10 minutes and then wasted $20 thinking I'd get more.

Customer Review: Over 40? Get earplugs.

The video wastes valuable time on unnecessary graphics and plays, continually, an annoying drumbeat type music that drives many of us in the over 40 generation to hide in a quiet place. I don't need such an annoyance and had to turn the volume way down and even then the content of the DVD was something a person should learn enough about from the salesperson. A total waste of money, I threw it away immediately when it ended. Look for better Dvds out there and don't fall for this one simply because it says it is for the Rebel, a GREAT camera.

Through the Eyes of a Pro: Advanced Shooting Techniques for Nikon DSLR Photographers; Volume 1

Through the Eyes of a Pro: Advanced Shooting Techniques for Nikon DSLR Photographers; Volume 1
In Volume 1 of this series, Tim explains the building blocks for making great photographs. Tim uses these fundamentals throughout the DVD to demonstrate how specific elements contribute to making the best image. We also follow Tim through an outdoor portrait session, and to a sporting event. Tim also discusses his approach to lens selection. He reviews several lenses and discusses what level of investment makes sense for the serious hobbyist and professional. Tim also discusses simple light manipulation techniques that can make the difference between a passable photo and a stunning image. In Volume 2 of this series, we follow Tim though a professional stock photography shoot. As we point our video cameras over his shoulder, Tim explains how the elements he has brought together contribute to the final, salable result. He also discusses other accessories that can help lift the quality of images to the next level. Last, but not least, he explores the human and business elements that must be understood for a photographer to be consistently successful as well as the attributes that make each photographer's work unique and important.

Customer Review: Great ideas, solid concepts

A professional photographer discusses the critical elements he believes makes a great photo. The interviews must have two hundred examples of his work that reinforce his concepts. Everything is about developing (no pun intended) the photographer and his skills. Little or nothing is about the technology, advanced camera controls, or cheerleading about Nikon. Be sure to watch volume 1 before volume 2, or you won't get much out of it. This DVD is full of great photography, examples, and exercises. It's exactly what I needed.

Customer Review: Very Helpful to a NEW Nikon D80 User!!!

After having purchased my Nikon D80, I then bought these two new DVD's to get more than the basics about shooing with my new Camera. While they did not specifically cover buttons and other details of my particular camera, I thought that the techniques covered were excellent, especially the lighting techniques which I really wanted the most help with. Getting the point of view from a professional helped me think about how I approach my own shooting. I don't plan on making a living from my photography, so some of the discussion regarding building a portfolio and how to manage a pro shoot didn't really apply to me, but there was enough other useful information in the DVDs that I really didn't mind a bit. It turns out that I probably should get the Introduction DVD as well because these advanced videos made me realize my camera has tons of functions I am not familiar with.

Digital SLR Camera & Lens 7-Piece Deluxe Cleaning Kit including Cameta Microfiber Cleaning Cloth - for Nikon D300, D3, D200, D100, D80, D70s, D70, D50, D40x & D40 Cameras

Digital SLR Camera & Lens 7-Piece Deluxe Cleaning Kit including Cameta Microfiber Cleaning Cloth - for Nikon D300, D3, D200, D100, D80, D70s, D70, D50, D40x & D40 Cameras
It's obvious that the cleaner the lens, the sharper your pictures will be. Dirt, dust, and fingerprints will degrade the image quality of even the finest optics. However, it's important to avoid using incorrect cleaning materials which can permanently damage your photo equipment. Used properly, the cleaning supplies in this kit are certified safe for use on your valuable digital and film photo equipment and optics. The environmentally-friendly Deluxe Air Blower is a real dust-blaster. It's nothing like those tiny blower brushes which are capable of producing only a gentle breath of air. When you squeeze this Deluxe Air Blower you get a focused gust of air that really pushes the dust off. Using the blower should always be the first step in cleaning your photo equipment. Use it to remove dust, dirt and grit from the surface of your lenses before you attempt to clean them with lens tissue. Otherwise you may find that you are grinding grit onto the delicate lens surface and may scratch it. The blower may also be used — carefully following your camera manufacturer's instructions and exercising due caution — to clean the camera's image sensor. [Of course, it is recommended that digital image sensor cleaning be done only by those who are justifiably confident in their knowledge and ability to do so.] This kit also contains Lens Cleaning Liquid which is used to lightly moisten a sheet of Lens Tissue to aid in the removal of fingerprints, oil, grease and environmental pollutants from your lenses and filters. The Soft Cleaning Cloth and the Cotton Swabs are very useful for caring for the exterior (non-optical) surface of all your photo equipment. ♦ The Cameta Microfiber Cleaning Cloth is designed using the latest 21st Century technology to clean fingerprints, oily smudges and other contaminants from LCD monitors and lens optics quickly, safely and easily. ♦ Used regularly, this SLR Camera Care Cleaning Kit will keep your equipment sparkling clean.
